We are taking it back to the Cross.
Ichthus Music Festival is already gaining traction among those who love Christian music and fellowship! We have faith that with the Lord's guidance and blessing, as well as the support of our sponsors, volunteers, and attendees, the event will grow to and even surpass the success of previous years.
Join us as we worship together to spread the love of Jesus and His message of peace, forgiveness, and grace!
We have included an extensive event FAQ section below. We look forward to seeing you in September!
Beginning in 1970, following the historic Asbury Revivals, Ichthus became known as one of the nation’s longest running music events. Taking its name from ichthys, the fish symbol used by early Christians, Ichthus carried out a mission to be an alternative to secular music events like Woodstock, and was designed to reach high school and college students.
In 2013 the Ichthus grounds at Wilmore were purchased by Joe and Cheryl Lycan, who renamed the property “Servant Heart Farm”. The couple is dedicated to bringing the complete Ichthus experience back home to the farm.
With new ownership and a new vision for ministry, through a partnership with Campbellsville University, a Christian institution of higher education, Ichthus was relaunched in 2021. Headliners Kutless, Sanctus Real, and Rhett Walker, along with several up and coming artists were part of the revived event. Covid-19 pandemic restrictions created hurdles for the outdoor festival, yet many attendees came to gather even under the restrictions.
Ichthus Music Festival will take place on Saturday, September 10, 2022. The exact schedule is still being finalized, but we're planning to open the gates at 11:00 AM and the last concert of the day to end around 10:30PM.
If you've attended Ichthus in the past, you will see some changes. First, the festival is a one-day event for 2022, not the multi-day format of yesterday.
Ichthus is now under the guidance of Joe and Cheryl Lycan, Christians who bought the original 100+ acre farm in Wilmore, KY to preserve it for ministry purposes. The Lycans also acquired the Ichthus name and with the help of great group of volunteers and ministry partners, along with the Beacon Foundation and Campbellsville University, now produce the new Ichthus Music Festival. Ichthus Music Festival is a volunteer-run, Christ-centered ministry that uses music to share the love and hope of Jesus.
There are a lot of memories and nostalgia attached to Ichthus. The goal is to build Ichthus into a sustainable ministry as America’s premier Christian music festival.
Ichthus will be held at the Servant Heart Farm in Wilmore, KY, the same location the festival was held from 1999 to 2012!
